August 1st: Down on the farm

First day of August....and first day of the August Break photo journaling event with Susannah Conway's uplifiting blog.

Since meeting my step-dad almost fifteen years ago, the middle of summer has meant harvest time on his grass seed farm.  Days spent with long drives on the combine, my mom bustling in the kitchen preparing treats to beat the heat, and me - in general, traipsing about- visiting the cows, helping my mum, driving into town,  and watching the fields. 

Here, it's Little Man Jack's turn. He walks,  proudly sporting his Wranglers, for his first ride on the combine.
